VOXATIV CABLES
Everything matters in a high-resolution system
The optimal signal path for high-efficiency full-range drivers
For decades now, we have been perfecting our approach to extracting the most musical resolution from a full-range driver design. The high resolution performance we divine from the signal chain is courtesy of our high-efficiency approach (i.e. >94db) that does so much more with every little watt of amplification. As such, they magnify every detail, demanding low noise floors and maximum signal integrity to separate the signal from the noise. Our drivers are so revealing, that even the slightest enhancements you make to your system will be exposed (for better or worse).
When it comes to cabling, we have experimented endlessly with a menagerie of signal conduction materials paired with our loudspeakers – yet, we always come back to one consistent preference: Copper. Our observations reveal that any deviation from pure copper in a cable conductor (like high silver composition, magnetic materials, rhodium etc.) adds a perceived high-frequency boost that may be necessary to give the typical low-efficiency speakers the shimmer and brilliance they natively lack. But, why?
Most cable designers voice their products based on R&D with hifi systems consisting of low-efficiency multi-way loudspeakers (i.e. <90db) with busy crossovers and high wattage amplification. For these systems, an added boost in the top end may be the necessary performance enhancement to create the illusion of high resolution. Such an approach is the antithesis of the Voxativ way.
Simply put, our drivers don’t need a perceived boost of resolution when they already possess it on their own. If anything, the balanced warmth of pure copper provides the ideal complement to the Voxativ sound that so many discerning listeners fall in love with.
